Gernod Gayk wurde 1976 im Harz geboren, zog für sein Fachhochschulstudium - Visuelle Kommunikation -
das er mit dem Comic „Nase ab“ als Diplomarbeit beendete nach Hannover und arbeitet dort heute als Grafikdesigner.
In den 80ern des letzten Jahrhunderts hatten wir sehr unterschiedliche Vorstellungen davon, was das Jahr 2000 bringen würde. Wir rechneten mit Chaos durch den totalen Computerausfall oder fliegenden Menschen mit Düsenrucksäcken. Eingetreten ist weder das Eine noch das Andere. Können wir also heute schon erahnen, was mal in einer sehr weit entfernten Zukunft sein wird? U.T.E. und Dü53 zeigen uns die Welt in ihrer Zeit und wie sie sich entwickelt hat.

Gernod Gayk was born in the Harz Mountains in 1976. He moved to Hanover to study visual communication at a university of applied sciences—
a program he completed with the comic “Nase ab” as his thesis—and now works there as a graphic designer.
In the 1980s, we had very different ideas about what the year 2000 would bring. We expected chaos caused by a total computer failure or people flying around with jetpacks. Neither of these things happened. So can we already imagine today what the very distant future will be like? U.T.E. and Dü53 show us the world in their time and how it has developed.
