Bela Sobottke (Jahrgang 1975) hat Kommunikationsdesign studiert und arbeitet selbständig als Grafiker und Comiczeichner in Berlin. Er hat diverse deftige Genre-Comics wie »Die Legende von Kronos Rocco« oder »Terror 3000« veröffentlicht. Aktuell erscheint in Cozmic 11 sein neuer, zehnseitiger Comic »Beth Reeves & Old Man Rocco«.
Das ausgestellte Bild ist ein Doppelsplashpanel aus Belas Comic »Terror 3000«. Es zeigt eine Szene aus dem Leben einer der Hauptfiguren: Yun berichtet im Rückblick von seiner Zeit auf dem Mars, als er in den Marskriegen gegen die Cohaagen-Milizen kämpfte und den Fat Boy zünden musste. Mehr wird über diesen Abschnitt seines Lebens nicht offenbart, die Leserschaft des Comics muss sich, ebenso wie die Besucher:innen dieser Ausstellung, den Rest mit Hilfe ihrer Fantasie ausmalen. »Terror 3000« erschien 2024 bei Gringo Comics, hat für viel Wirbel in der Presse gesorgt und ist aktuell in der Zweitauflage im Comicfachhandel oder direkt im Verlagsshop erhältlich. Bela Sobottke (born in 1975) studied communication design and works as a freelance graphic designer and comic artist in Berlin. He has published various gritty genre comics such as *The Legend of Kronos Rocco* and *Terror 3000*. His new ten-page comic, *Beth Reeves & Old Man Rocco*, is currently being published in *Cozmic 11*.
The image on display is a double splash page from Bela’s comic “Terror 3000.” It depicts a scene from the life of one of the main characters: Yun looks back on his time on Mars, when he fought against the Cohaagen militias in the Mars Wars and had to detonate the Fat Boy. No more is revealed about this period of his life; the comic’s readers, just like the visitors to this exhibition, must use their imagination to fill in the rest. “Terror 3000” was published in 2024 by Gringo Comics, caused quite a stir in the press, and is currently available in its second edition at comic book stores or directly from the publisher’s shop.
