Eigentlich wollte sie Grafikerin werden, landete stattdessen aber erstmal in der Leichenhalle. Es hat dann ein bißchen gedauert, bis die Farben sie wiederfanden. Seit 2010 arbeitet sie unter dem Label AUGE AN HIRN als freischaffende Illustratorin, Künstlerin und Graphic Recorderin. 2017 hat sie den silbernen Deutschen Karikaturenpreis erhalten und ist im Lockdown mit Mann und Malkram von Düsseldorf nach Ostfriesland ausgewandert.
„Mit der Dystopie im Kopf und der Utopie im Herzen werde ich nicht aufhören, uns daran zu erinnern, dass das Leben schön und leicht sein kann. Also manchmal…hin und wieder…eventuell auch nur in ganz kleinen Momenten. Aber DIE sind wichtig!“

She actually wanted to become a graphic designer, but ended up in the morgue instead. It took a while for color to find its way back into her life. Since 2010, she has been working as a freelance illustrator, artist, and graphic recorder under the label AUGE AN HIRN. In 2017, she received the Silver German Cartoon Award and, during lockdown, moved from Düsseldorf to the city of Leer in East Frisia with her husband and her art supplies.
“With dystopia in my head and utopia in my heart, I won’t stop reminding us that life can be beautiful and easy. Well, sometimes… every now and then… maybe just in very small moments. But THOSE are important!”
