Hatiye ist eine behinderte Illustratorin und Comiczeichnerin aus Istanbul, die heute in Köln lebt. Sie zeichnet gerne Vögel, Blumen und alltägliche Momente. Sie ist Gründerin und kreative Leiterin des Projekts „Accessible Lines“, das Illustratoren aus Großbritannien und der Türkei zusammenbringt, um ihre Werke barrierefrei zugänglich zu machen.
Über das Kunstwerk:
„Finding the Dots“ ist ein Comic mit neun Bildern, der die Geschichte eines Marienkäfers erzählt, der seine Punkte entdeckt, die in den Mustern und Strukturen des Alltags versteckt sind. Jedes Bild fängt einen Moment stiller Beobachtung und spielerischer Entdeckung ein und lädt den Betrachter dazu ein, darüber nachzudenken, wie aus kleinen, alltäglichen Details ein Selbstbewusstsein entstehen kann. Die Serie wurde mit einer Papierschnitttechnik erstellt, was ihr ein haptisches, vielschichtiges Gefühl von Neugier und Verbundenheit verleiht.

Hatiye is a disabled illustrator and comic artist from Istanbul, now based in Cologne. She likes to draw birds, flowers, and ordinary moments. She is the founder and creative producer of the Accessible Lines project, which connects illustrators from the UK and Turkey to make their work accessible.
About the Artwork:
Finding the Dots is a nine-panel comic that tells the story of a ladybug discovering their dots hidden in the patterns and textures of everyday life. Each panel captures a moment of quiet observation and playful discovery, inviting the viewer to reflect on how a sense of self can emerge from small, ordinary details.
